A single mom and her 3 kids working in Tuscany for almost two months…
When I first traveled to Italy with my kids, I searched the internet for every piece of travel advice I could find. I got all the Italy guide books and looked up everything on family travel and tips for traveling to Italy with kids.
I found a fair amount of information, but it was always the same stuff. The Leaning Tower of Pisa, museums, a gondola ride in Venice; basically, everything that we all know and expect to see while visiting Italy.
With most of our time being spent in Tuscany, we really found a lack of information about family travel in this amazing region of Italy.
We quickly discovered that Tuscany is not all about touring vineyards and visiting museums. As we got to know the area more, we began to realize how many wonderful places there are to visit that have been excluded from those guide books.
We consider ourselves slow, immersive travelers. We don’t like to cover as many sites as we can in a day, take photos and move on to the next spot. We enjoy learning about a place before we visit, staying there for a while and immersing ourselves in the culture.
Traveling for the experience, rather than the “I was here” photograph.
The kids and I decided that we would create the PERFECT Family Travel in Tuscany guide book, published by Wandering Educators Press.
So, here we are, doing all the work, so you don’t have to.
I know, tough job. Right?
We will be here for almost two months and visiting as many places as possible. I will be reviewing each of them for our Family Travel in Tuscany guide book. Not only will you be getting my overall review, but the kids will also be rating each location and sharing their personal thoughts. You will have the perspectives from a 13 year old, a 9 year old and a 5 year old. Perfect!
We promise to offer you the most comprehensive guide for families traveling in Tuscany.
We will all be blogging and posting about our adventures along the way. We hope that you will be inspired to visit Tuscany with your family!
